Colour: Ruby with garnet
Bouquet: intense and persistent.
Taste: harmonious, full, warm, balanced sweetness.
Production area: the vineyards cover the territory of Taranto Faggiano - Apulia, in the middle area Manduria D.O.C., for a total of 13 hectares at 40 meters above sea level
Vineyard: Bush Vine, raised to 50 cm. from the soil, average age 20 years.
Soil: Medium-textured clay.
Harvest: First ten days of October.
Winemaking: The harvest is carried out entirely by hand, lags behind its dry wines, the grapes are hanging on wires by hand in a very ventilated room to dry, and then vinified in the Primitive manner.
On the table: Serving temperature of 20C, also goes well with sweet unleavened breads, jam tarts and chocolate, cheese and dried fruit.
Origin of name: the Medsa consisted in the power to petrify anyone who had the misfortune to meet his gaze. She was murdered at the instigation of Athena because, according to one version of the myth, she was a very attractive and young and had dared to rival the Goddess, bragging about her hair flowing.
Dark ruby colour; Intense nose of preserved fruit; balanced in the mouth. The grapes are dried for 15/20 days directly on the plant when the weather permits, or in special racks.
