Barbera is one of the classic grapes of Italy's Piemonte and Lomdardy region, though it is popular throughout much of Northwest Italy and has gained a following in the UK and Germany. Welcome acidity has been a trait of Barbera though modern viticultural techniques and warmer regions have softened the acidity somewhat , resulting in medium-bodied wines with bright, red fruit tones that feature hints of violets, earth and plum with just a whisper of tannin.
Produced in toasted oak barrels, provides for increased complexity, aging potential, and hints of vanilla notes. A wine with perfect balance between acid and fruit, with the addition of oak and having a medium alcohol (13.5% abv.) content this wine is drinking fantastically now but will also benefit from cellaring.
One of the most versatile wines for pairing with food, enjoy with grilled chicken, pizza, barbecued ribs, cheese and bacon hamburger, almost any grilled or roasted meat etc.
